About
Might and Magic III is a commercial fantasy role-playing game for the Macintosh available from New World Computing. It is one of a series on the Macintosh, the most recent of which is a CD-ROM called "World of Xeen", which is really Might and Magic IV and V in one package. This patch will update the Might & Magic III application versions 1.0, 1.0.1, and 1.0.2 to 1.1b1. Additionally, it will update the M&M3 Sound file to version 1.1. This update has not been tested by New World Computing. It is offered independently of New World Computing - if you have a problem with it, do not contact New World Computing. It may not work correctly at all. It is labeled "beta" to indicate that it has had very little testing. While I have made my best effort to insure proper functionality, Might and Magic III 1.1b1 may not work correctly at all. Though very unlikely, this version could cause you to lose data. Use it at your own risk. That said, I hope it works well and welcome bug reports and comments. e-mail me at "jake@presage.com". Version 1.1 corrects several minor problems with previous versions of Might and Magic III. These include: * Screen fade problems on AV Macintoshes * Sound quality and compatibility on all Macs (and especially on AV and PowerMacs) * Certain animations playing too fast. * Several minor graphical and code errors. Because this patcher will update the files directly, you should make a backup copies before updating the application and sound file. The updater may be freely distributed, provided all portions included here are kept together when redistributed.
